What Hacker News says?

 1. These are high praises and more than enough impetus to watch Andreas’ videos and check out SerenityOS. Thank you, all. From tfa: > With no drugs or other vices to pass the time, the days seemed impossibly long. Is honest, resonant, and bodes well, but it’ll be work to convince myself this [0] is more like ol’ skool X than ~WinNT circa 2000 — it’s not making me serene atm. 9. There are certainly "favorite" websites. You could use that as "sites that I use for professional work and track the latest features." Gitlab, Github, Gmail, and so on. There are also the "Mom's cooking blog" that is running an ancient copy of Wordpress and mom still doesn't understand that This is important is not formatted correctly. Some browsers are able to handle this, but if you browse it with a…

 11. As others have said, you can pick any video, start watching and you'll just be "up-to-date". Having said that, one of the first videos I watched from start to finish and found easy to follow was the one about implementing the `pledge` syscall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-a5hLBuW6tY . 13. SerenityOS's browser has never been named Ladybird AFAIK, it's always been just Browser. https://github.com/SerenityOS/serenity/tree/master/Userland/... 23. I wonder if the OS world will move towards lightweight but unforgiving sandboxing like OpenBSD's `pledge` and `unveil` system calls. It's crazy to me that most software is still completely fine to run around and set things as fire the instant it's compromised! This is about the implementation in the SerenityOS but it's my favourite explanation so far: https://awesomekling.github.io/pledge-and-unveil-in-Serenity...
