  15. I wrote a simple formatter for outputting json values. It respects maximum line length. https://gist.github.com/nojvek/875d8cad1005da0b95da2840bbc89... The core is you have nested group chunks with (indent breakpoint, dedent breakpoint, separator breakpoint, more text…

  21. When I was working on a ray tracer, I found that interpolating the color from neighboring points instead of leaving it blank for in-progress elements was a huge improvement for quickly seeing what the scene is going to look like. In the video examples it doesn't seem like they're doing it. I'm interested to know the rationale. (See "Progressive Rendering" section for an example: https://blog.vjeux.com/2012/javascrip…

  23. During the beta, the way we used to release CosmosUI was to send modified versions of the game interface files. On every patch, we had to manually go over all the changes we made and re-apply them to the new files. This process took several hours and in the process, no one could really play because they didn't have all their mods. Since it was becoming a real pain, I figured out that we could modify the existing fun…

  25. While this is a good overview of why _they_ chose Vue over React, I wouldn't risk deriving that you should do the same too. To balance the scale a bit, this is what they gave up, in favor of "shit that just works" (because this is the tone I'm getting from the article): 1. They decided they want off the enormous driving force for developer experience that is Facebook, and more importantly the Facebook codebase that…

  27. That puts me off too, it's too PHP, as you said, but I love React because I use it with Coffeescript, which eliminates the need for a JSX compilator: http://blog.vjeux.com/2013/javascript/react-coffeescript.htm... (You can do the same thing with pure JS, there are some forms of simplifying the React.DOM.div() calls, but coffeescript makes it beautiful.)
