What Hacker News says?

  1. The "source available" part kind of reminds me of MarkDeep (though in markdeep, the source is the document itself): https://casual-effects.com/markdeep/

  5. Depending on how simple you want it, you could just use MarkDeep, TexMe or MdMe plus something like NeoCities or a Github repo. You'd miss out on some benefits of a full generator, like automatically creating an archive page and RSS feeds and stuff like that, but you'd gain that 90's simplicity. 7. http://casual-effects.com/markdeep/ has had ASCII-art-as-vector-image features for quite some time now. It's in need of a good editor, though.

  9. You know what's even better to me than GitHub-Flavoured Markdown? Markdeep: https://casual-effects.com/markdeep/ Demo: https://casual-effects.com/markdeep/features.md.html Yes, I know they likely provided it for compatibility, but markdeep is just too cool to not mention.

  11. Nice! This would be super cool when applied to some nice diagramming libraries like Mermaid and Markdeep. https://github.com/knsv/mermaid https://casual-effects.com/markdeep

The actual code: https://github.com/google/filament Additional docs on their material system: https://google.github.io/filament//Materials.md.html https://google.github.io/filament/Material%20Properties.pdf Also, I'll plug http://casual-effects.com/markdeep/ which was apparently used to format the docs.

  17. I'm surprised nobody mentioned MarkDeep as an extension to MarkDown[0]. It features a lot of convenient extras, and Morgan McGuire (who created it) has slowly been improving it over the years. https://casual-effects.com/markdeep/

  19. https://casual-effects.com/markdeep/ has a similar idea but different execution. I use something similar for my blog (I don't have a WYSIWYG editor for the widgets though, that's pretty neat): The posts are written in markdown, but then there's a few "widgets" that are basically markdown code blocks with a special "language" tag set that will render a React component with the text content as a input prop. I also use…

  21. If you haven't seen it yet, check out Markdeep: http://casual-effects.com/markdeep/ . Write in any text editor, and a tiny JS boilerplate turns it into nicely-rendered HTML.

  23. I didn't see anyone mention Markdeep [0] yet. I started with a notes.txt file for the system I maintain. I found myself gradually adopting Markdown syntax because I need bulleted lists and headings to separate different sections. I also needed hyperlinks to documentation or StackOverflow answers. So one day I just added the Markdeep tags to the bottom of the file and renamed it to notes.md.html I still keep it open…
